Lamyaa a 17-year-old Muslim girl post a conversation with her father after she received a message from someone claiming that her father would "beat her" if she took her hijab off.
Lamyaa from Pennsylvania, USA, told Buzzfeed, she was in a group chat with people, some of who she did not know. The discussion turned more political, when the topic of donald trumps presidency came into question. Due to Lamyaa being an Arab Muslim she defended attacks towards her faith, boy responded to her with a message reading, "Stop defending Islam b**** shut up you couldn't take that scarf off or your dad would beat your a**".
In reading this message she decided to put the guy's opinion to the test, she texted her father who was staying in Saudi Arabia that she wanted to remove her hijab, her father gave an answer which beat a lot of stereotypes of relations between Muslim children and their parents, her father wrote, "Sweetheart that's not my decision to make. That's no man's decision to make. If it's what you feel like you want to do, go ahead. I will support you no matter what."

She posted the answer on to Twitter which destroyed a lot of ignorance frequently believed by a number of people. The tweet received a ton of support from her followers and others alike, her tweet garnered almost 150,000 retweets and over 300,000 likes.
