Now I don't want readers to get the wrong idea, American journalist, Noor Tagouri hasn't participated in any lewd acts but rather she has been featured in Playboy's 'Renegades' issue.
The October Playboy issue, subtitled 'Renegades' features both men and women who have come up against the odds to achieve their goals, as Playboy puts it, "They’ve risked it all—even their lives—to do what they love, showing us what can be accomplished if we break the rules,".
The 22-year-old from West Virginia with Libyan roots has set her goals to become the first News anchor on commercial television in America. Noor is pretty close to achieving her goals as of June 2016 she has been working with Newsy, an online video news platform.
In her Interview with Playboy, Noor discussed wearing her hijab whilst being in front of the camera, she expressed, "To be honest, I think being a hijabi Muslim woman, helped me gain that trust [from interview subjects]," she went on to state, "I know what it’s like to have the narrative of our community be skewed and exploited in the media. I was like, ‘Hey, I know what it’s like to be misrepresented in the media. I won’t do that to you. I want to tell your story because it’s important and deserves justice".
Noor has since faced criticism from commenters on social media but she has affirmed that she ignores negative comments, telling Playboy, "“I don’t read or pay attention to any of it. It’s just negative energy and unhealthy. I make sure to keep a great circle of people around me who keep me grounded,”.
